Beverly Hills Sprinkles to open 24-hour cupcake vending machine
The Los Angeles-based Sprinkles bakery has an amazing new invention sure to delight those late night Hollywood stars with a fetish for sugary treats. The Sprinkles cupcake bakery is planning to open the first 24 hour cupcake ATM machine in the world. The devilish device will provide anytime day or night access to freshly baked cupcakes. We consider this to be pure evil of a delicious variety.
Sprinkles bakery founder Candace Nelson, a judge on the Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars,” said she came up with the idea while she was pregnant and suffering sugary cravings. “Even as Sprinkles’ founder, I couldn’t get my midnight cupcake fix,” Nelson said in a press statment about the new cupcake ATM machine.
The cupcake vending machine should be up and running within two weeks, according to Sprinkles bakery representative Nicole Schwartz. The cupcake ATM is located on South Santa Monicca Boulevard in Beverly Hills, between the Sprinkles bakery and the new Sprinkles ice cream shop opening later this year.
Most amazing of all, the cupcake ATM will allegedly deliver up freshly baked cupcakes made within only a few hours of vending — even after store hours. “The machine is attached to our bakery, which is essentially a 24-hour operation,” Schwartz explained. “There’s only a small gap between the time closers leave at night and when the bakers arrive in the wee hours of 2:00-3:00a.m. “We’ll constantly be restocking the automate with freshly baked cupcakes.”
Each of the cupcakes will be individually packaged to prevent damage during delivery and the machine will be carefully watched over by the bakery staff. The cupcake ATM can hold about 600 horders and the sweet treats will cost $4 each. The machine will also allow customers to choose between eight different flavors, including the cupcake of the day.
For those who are now incredibly sad they don’t live in Los Angeles, you might still some day have a cupcake ATM near you. Sprinkles plans to open the machines in other cities where their shops can be found, such as in New York. Cupcake lovers in the Big Apple can look forward to several of the Sprinkles pink cupcake ATMs appearing in Downtown and on the Upper West Side later this year
