The
Miami-Dade County libraries are offering a pass this year, which will
get you and your family into the museums below, for FREE!
They are often rented out, but it’s worth a shot if you are in a library!
The
FREE passes last one week, and cover 2 adults and their children. The
museums included are: Miami Science Museum/Planetarium, Metro Zoo, Miami
Art Museum/Flagler, Miami Children’s Museum/Miami Beach. Most of these
museums cost about $16 or more per person, and annual memberships are
about $80. So this is worth it! If you like a particular location a lot,
look into the annual passes. The zoo, for example, offers a lot of
events throughout the year (Halloween Trick or Treating, Easter Egg
Hunt, slides in the summer/water events). These events are all included
for members with annual passes-no additional fees. If you join for
yourself and kids, it’s about $100 for the year. Your spouse or one
guest can come for free.
The
other theme parks cost about $30 per person, and only offer a 15%
discount for your spouse. So if you and your 2 Parrot Jungle, the
Seaquarium, Miami Science Museum, it will cost about $30 per child, and
$40 per adult. Your spouse is not included in the pass (has to pay
separately). If your spouse wants to come to an event one day, he pays
about $28 for that day! I think the zoo stretches your dollar the
most!

Miami-Dade
Public Library System proudly presents the Museum Pass! Just visit your
nearest branch library, see staff for availability and use your library
card to check out a museum pass. The Museum Pass offers patrons FREE
admission for a family of four to the Deering Estate at Cutler,
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Fruit & Spice Park, HistoryMiami,
Miami Art Museum, Miami Children's Museum, Miami Science Museum, Zoo
Miami and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
How the pass works:
- Pass is good for up to a family of four.*
- Pass is good for one visit.
- Pass is not renewable or available for reserve.
- Pass is valid for seven days from the time of check out.
- Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Pass will not be replaced if lost or stolen.
- Only one pass may be checked out at a time.
*For Deering Estate passes, a family of four is two adults and two children ages 4-14.
*For and Fruit & Spice Park passes, a family of four is two adults and two children ages 6-11.
*For and Fruit & Spice Park passes, a family of four is two adults and two children ages 6-11.
Museums may apply restrictions including blackout dates or separate admission to special event/exhibits
