Earth Day Events in Miami

Earth Day officially takes place on Sunday, April 22, 2012. Miami has several fun events happening on and around this date to celebrate Mother Earth.

 
 Pinecrest Earth Day Festival
April 15, 2012 from 11 am to 4 pm
Pinecrest Gardens (the former site of Parrot Jungle) will host this free event featuring a green farmer’s market, green vendors, workshops, demonstrations and performances.

Party for the Planet at ZooMiami
April 21 & 22, 2012 from 11 am to 4 pm
To celebrate Earth Day at ZooMiami, the Tropical Flowering Tree Society will be hosting the world’s largest flowering tree annual plant show and sale. There will also be fun “green” activities and entertainment for the entire family as well as animal enrichment with recycled items and/or natural materials like newspapers, cardboard tubes, bamboo, old tires, fire hoses & more.

Earth Day Celebration at the Barnacle
April 22, 2012 from 11 am to 4 pm
Celebrate all things green at The Barnacle. Booths will feature green businesses and local environmental groups. There will be environmental activities for the kids. Bring your own picnic, or buy burgers, hot dogs, and veggie dogs here. Acoustic music will be provided by Florida Historian-in-Song Grant Livingston between noon and 3 pm. Free with regular park admission ($2, ages 5 and under are free).

Green Earth Day at Miami Children's Museum
April 22, 2012 from 12 noon to 4 pm
Help the Miami Children's Museum celebrate Earth Day and learn what it means to be "green." Whether it's playing the conservation game or creating your own recycled art piece, learning about the environment will be fun and exciting
